Long ago, the Pilgrims came to America on a ship called the Mayflower. They had a hard winter, but with help from Native Americans, they survived. The next autumn, they held a feast to thank God and their friends.
Today, families gather together for a big meal. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie are traditional foods. People also say what they are thankful for.
Giving thanks makes us happy and brings people closer.
